You Can Do It! Toolkit: Strategies to Support Student Progress and Achievement in the Classroom by Sue Dawson
Most children enjoy recording their achievements and their progress, or having these recorded for them. If they learn a new skill or work hard to improve some aspect of their behaviour, it’s good to be able to acknowledge that in some visible way. This is what the resources in this book aim to provide. The resources have been designed for immediate use, just as they are, or to act as templates from which teachers might develop further resources.
The resources are photocopiable and arranged in sections for easy access. Each section has a brief introduction which outlines the occasions when the resources within it have been found to be effective. Each resource also has notes which explain how it can best be used, and some examples are given of completed sheets and charts.
The book includes the following resources:
- Acknowledgement cards
- Charts to record learning progress
- Charts to record and acknowledge improvement in behaviour
- Weekly and daily plans
- Sheets and charts to encourage inclusion
- Student self-evaluation formats
- Strategies for involving families
