The Stile Tray is the key to the self-checking activities of the Stile programme. Pupils answer the questions by simply placing each of the twelve numbered tiles on the appropriate square on the base of the tray. When all the tiles have been placed, they close the tray, turn it over, and reopen it to reveal a geometric pattern. If the answers are all correct, the pattern will match the one printed at the top of the exercise. There are many different accompanying workbooks for use with the Stile Tray, covering Literacy, Maths and Dyslexia.
This comprehensive set of six books offers a systematic approach to the teaching of the main understanding shape and measuring requirements of the PNS Framework for Mathematics for Years 5 and 6 of Key Stage 2 (ages 9-11). The activities are also appropriate for older children in secondary school as they are challenging and appropriately illustrated. Stile’s unique self-checking mechanism is ideal for individual work. Each book contains 24 pages (150 x 266mm). A Stile Tray is required to use these books; they are sold separately.
