PM is a firm favourite amongst Primary Schools due to its reputation for reading success. Offering over 800 carefully levelled fiction and non-fiction books, PM builds confidence through gradual progression and step-by-step support.
PM Gems are written especially for emergent and early readers and include the favourite PM characters such as Sally, Max, Kitty Cat, Little Chimp and the Bear Family. By PM Green Level children should be able to recognise 160 high frequency words and familiar suffixes, such as –ing, -ed, -er. Books at this level feature more compound words leading to the understanding of syllables.
They include some longer sentences in different titles with two clauses and an opening phrase, and introduce different forms of text in this level such as non-fiction, rhyming lines, procedural diagrams, fables and verse.
