Let passengers get on or off the bus to practice math skills. How many passengers take a ride with the bus? Introduce counting, adding and subtracting up to 10. This wooden educational toy was developed for use in early childhood and Montessori classrooms and homes, where the activities can be both teacher-directed as well as child-initiated.
HOW TO PLAY: Start with an empty bus. Throw both dice. Place the indicated number and colour of passenger. Count out loud the number of passengers that are inside the bus.
INCREASE THE CHALLENGE: For a more challenging game play, use the bus stop cards and follow the instructions accordingly. Verbalize what you do and specifically state the arithmetic operation. For example: “there were 10 passengers inside the bus, I remove 2, so 10 – 2 = 8”.
EDUCATIONAL: Ideal for beginning to understand number concepts and counting. Ideal for classroom or home school use.
