A powerful electromagnet comprising a 'U' shaped soft iron core 100mm x 65mm overall. Formed from a 16mm diameter bar. The windings are of 0.9mm enamelled copper wire wound on insulation bobbins, connected in series and provided with 4mm sockets.
The ends of the core are carefully ground to provide optimum magnetic contact with the armature, which is also ground flat.
Winding resistance is approximately 0.5Ω
A force of about 75N is required to pull the armature away from the core when 1A is flowing through the windings.
- Recommended Current: 5A.
- Maximum Current: 8A
- Input Voltage: 4-6V
